Welcome to Scouting at the
Tall Pine Council!

The Tall Pine Council - Boy Scouts of America was organized in 1917 and serves the three Mid-Michigan counties of Genesee, Lapeer and Shiawassee. Over 8,000 youth each year experience the Scouting aims of character development, citizenship, (skills) training and personal fitness in Tall Pine Council activities.

Camp Tapico Summer Camp Leaders Meeting

Please remember that the Camp Tapico Leaders Meeting will held on February 2, 2012 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at Mott Community College, Regional Technology Center Building, Room 1301. Mott's adrress is 1401 E. Court Street, Flint.

Tall Pine Council
95th Anniversary Jamboree

The Tall Pine Council 95th Anniversary Jamboree is coming August 24-26, 2012 to Kearsley Park in Flint. There will be lots of fun activities! Make sure to get your pack, troop, or crew out to the Council Jamboree.

Registration and payments are due by June 8, 2012 (fee includes patch).

Tall Pine Council Recognition and Awards Banquet

On February 25, 2012 at the Genesys Conference and Banquet Center (805 Health Park Boulevard, Grand Blanc), the Tall Pine Council will hold its annual Recognition and Awards Banquet. The banquet recognizes the achievements of Scouters and Scouts of the Tall Pine Council. The banquet starts with dinner, and is immediately followed by the awards presentation. All unit, district and council volunteers should plan on attending this great event in their honor. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner at 6:00 p.m. Dinners are $30.00 each by February 10, 2012 or $35.00 each after February 10, 2012. The Tall Pine Council will be hosting three National Jamboree 2013 informational meetings on January 31st, February 1st, and February 6th. Information, questions, and concerns on the 2013 National Jamboree will be the focus for these informational meetings. 2013 National Scout Jamboree

Get Ready! The 2013 National Scout Jamboree is coming July 15-24, 2013 which will take place at the brand new Summit Bechtel Reserve in the wilds of West Virginia.

Youth Protection Training is Required

  • Youth Protection training is required for all BSA registered volunteers, regardless of their position.
  • New leaders are required to take Youth Protection training before submitting an application for registration. The certificate of completion for this training must be submitted at the time the application is made and before volunteer service with youth begins.
  • Youth Protection training must be taken every two years. If a volunteer’s Youth Protection training record is not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not be reregistered.
