Past Section C-2A Dan Ling Service Award Recipients

<< Back to Cuwe 218 History

The Dan Ling Service Award was conceived in 1976 in honor of a remarkable human. Dan served as Area Adviser for the Order of the Arrow from 1956 until 1970, and as an early Woodbadge pioneer. He has left the area, but continues to leave his mark on a vast number in the Scouting movement. In order to be eligible for the DSLA, one must be a member in good standing in the order of the Arrow and have given at least two years of service to the section as a member of the Council of Chiefs (i.e. section officer or Adviser, lodge chief or Adviser, or committee chairman or Adviser). There are no posthumous awards. The DSLA committee made up of youth from each lodge chooses the recipients and the award is presented at the Section Conclave.
