“A Scout Is Reverent” Hike
A NEW event for 2009, “A Scout Is Reverent”
Hike will tour 12 local area churches. At each
church “stop”, Scouts will learn a specific
point of the SCOUT LAW as it is taught in the religion
or denomination of that particular church. Each
church along the bike route will be of a different secular
denomination taking advantage of the religious teachings
and vast diversity of our City. It promises to
be a GREAT experience for ALL Scouts.
This premiere event will be held Saturday, June
6, 2009 in and around Downtown Flint.
ALL Cub and Boy Scouts are encouraged to attend a very
special, fun and educational activity.
The fun will begin with check-in on Saturday morning
at 8:00 am in the First Presbyterian Church Parking
Lot with opening scheduled for 9:00 am at First Pres.
Make sure you eat breakfast before you come,
and all Scouts are encouraged to dress for
the weather, bring plenty of water and a sack lunch
to be consumed along the bike route!
The Hike plans to conclude around 1:00 pm. In the First
Pres. Parking Lot. Cost is $5.00 if you register
by May 22, 2009…..$7.00 late registration from
May 23 until June 3rd.
All Scouts will receive a uniquely designed commemorative
patch for participating!
