Camping Activities

Tall Pine Council offers a variety of camping opportunities for each Scouting Unit, whether it is an informal weekend get away or week long structured program like Summer Camp. Tall Pine Council has two camping properties. The first is Camp Holaka located near Lapeer, Michigan, the second CampTapico located near Kalkaska, Michigan. Both camps have facilities and campsites that are available to rent year round.

We also have a floating camp, known as the PW ll, a 47' foot sailboat that is available to be chartered for week long cruises and on the weekends during the sailing season.

Camp Holaka has 5 buildings ranging in capacity from 4 to 50 persons, campsites for tent camping, a pavilion for picnics, trails and facilities for cross country skiing.

Camp Tapico has two year round buildings. One holds 36 people and the other holds 75. Campsites and other buildings are available on a seasonal basis. Cross country skiing and canoeing are also available.

The PWll (Prevailing Winds) can hold a maximum of 18 persons.

Reservation information, rates, and availability can be found by contacting the program secretary at the Council Service Center
