  • What is the “Subscription” To Camp Program?: “Subscription” to Camp is a new Spring program that allows every Scout the opportunity to earn his way to camp. Every unit who participates will also have the opportunity to raise additional funds for the unit and organize the ultimate camping experience for their Scouts with no expense to the unit or the Scout.

  • Who can participate in the “Subscription” To Camp Program?: Any Cub Scout pack or Boy Scout troop.

  • How does the “Subscription” To Camp Program Work?: Scouts in participating units will be given coupon booklets with eight $20 magazine vouchers. Scouts will then find 8 family members, friends, neighbors, etc. to purchase a $20 magazine voucher. The purchaser of the $20 magazine voucher will be able to choose from over 30 magazines with a range of issues. It is that easy; Scouts simply sell the vouchers and collect the money! No inventory or distribution necessary!

  • What is the Incentive for Units?: Any Cub Scout who sells one complete coupon booklet will be given a Free reservation to any Cub Scout Camp of their choice! Any Boy Scout who sells three complete coupon booklets will be given a Free reservation to Summer Camp at Camp Tapico! After a Cub Scout sells his first coupon booklet, any booklet sold thereafter may be applied to another Cub Scout Camp or may earn a $6 Scout Buck per voucher sold ($48 Scout Buck/booklet). After a Boy Scout sells his first three coupon booklets, any booklet sold thereafter may be applied towards a $6 Scout Buck for each voucher ($48 Scout Buck/booklet). YES…You are thinking correctly, Cub Scouts have the opportunity to go to multiple Cub Scout Camps for FREE!! PLUS… after the sale of ten complete coupon booklets, units will receive $5 deposited into their unit account for every complete coupon booklet sold thereafter. (Example: Unit sells 20 coupon booklets, receives $50 deposited into unit account, etc. etc.)

  • How long does the “Subscription” To Camp program last?: Participating units will check out coupon booklets at their March 13, 2008 District Roundtable. Scouts will have the next four weeks to sell magazine vouchers. At the April 10, 2008 District Roundtables, participating units will turn in any unsold coupon booklets, total dollars collected and necessary paperwork.

  • What camps are Scouts eligible to attend?: Cub Scouts who earn their “Subscription” to camp will be eligible for a free reservation to any of the 2008 Cub Scout Camps. Boy Scouts who earn their “Subscription” to camp will be eligible for a free reservation at the 2008 Summer Camp at Camp Tapico. Those participating units and Scouts must still submit a reservation form to the Scout Service Center for camp.

  • Who do I call to find out more Information?: Contact the Finance Department at your Scout Service Center at 810-235-2531.
